a special session with addison
Posted on November 5, 2009
This was a very special session for me. I know Addison’s aunt; she in not only a very dear friend of mine but she is also Griffin’s teacher. Addison is about to turn one and her mom and dad wanted to get some pictures of her and them together. She was also going to have major surgery performed about a week later. One of Addison’s legs was not fully developed when she was born. Her doctors recommended that she have that leg amputated around her first birthday.
Since the surgery date was approaching, her parents wanted me to document what she looked like before her leg was removed. I was deeply touched that they asked me to do this for them. Addison was a bright light. Her smile was contagious and her energy was inspiring. The session was at her home. I love to photograph people in their own elements. I think it makes them more relaxed and you get a better sense for who they are.
I want to thank you, Ryan and Shannon, for asking me to do this for you. Thanks for letting me into your home and letting me do whatever I needed to get the shots I had wanted to try. You have one very special little girl there; but I know you already knew that.

Rebecca, these photos of Addison are so precious. Thank you for doing such an amazing job in capturing our special little girl. We can’t wait to see all of the other photos. You have a gift to bring smiles to everyone’s face and we can’t thank you enough. These pictures will be such a treasured memory, especially for Addison. Continue to follow your passion, you are great!!

Hey I know that dad! Beck, I know Ryan from work and he is such a gracious and kind person. Brett has even golfed with him. I have never met his beautiful wife or their daughter but I love these photos of them. What a great idea, great captures on your part (as usual) of a gorgeous family. Hope her surgery goes smoothly for all of them.
Absolutely beautiful photos!
