glitter shoes make me smile
Posted on November 27, 2009
Every girl wants to wear shoes that glitter, but once you hit 12, it’s just not as cute.
Thank goodness these little ones have a while till they hit 12! Cuteness x 3 (in the spring there will be 4). Yep, mama is expecting girl #4! This couple was so fun to work with. They had a smile on there face the whole time. I just wanted to be around them to learn their secret and hoped some of their energy would rub off on me.
Look as their little girls, so, so sweet. I can imagine what the scene in their home will be like in 10 years but I bet they wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks Stephanie for letting me meet your wonderful family. I can’t wait to see the new family addition in the spring.

the coolest place
Posted on November 23, 2009
My friend Amy found this spot for her family pictures. She visited the place a few days before our session and showed me the pictures that she took. All I can say is that I started to drool. This place was so flipping cool!!!!
It’s an old dairy farm that has been abandoned for many, many, many years. The colors, the lines, the stories these buildings could tell just amazed me. Amy and her family were great. They knew exactly what they wanted and were open to whatever I wanted to try. It was a great afternoon spent doing something I love with wonderful people ~ thanks you guys!!!

pictures – people
Posted on November 19, 2009
Sometimes I really enjoy pictures of things instead of people.
Working on an amazing family session and ran across these. The place this family picked was awe inspiring. I can’t wait to finish that shoot up and share the images. Till than, here are some pictures minus people.

it may have been cold, but these two were hot
Posted on November 18, 2009
I love doing couple sessions. You get to try things that you can not try during other photo sessions. I love to see how couples interact; how they play off of each other. Sarah and Clark were so much fun to work with. It was freezing out the day we did our session, but by looking at these two you would never know it.
Look at the love they have, you can see it when they look at each other. Clark was a major trooper. When I asked him to so something, he just grinned and did what was asked; thanks Clark! He knows how to make his wife happy ~ the secret to a wonderful marriage. And Sarah, what can I say that could describe her? Sarah is such a warm happy person. When you are around her you can’t help but smile and feel good about yourself. Her parents did an amazing job raising a person that is so open and caring.
This couple has some sort of magic between them. I am thankful that I was able to capture it. Happy moving you guys.

twice the energy

Twin boys the day after Halloween will run circles around you.
I did a session for my dear friend Stacy and her family. Kyle and Marcus are good friends of my son Griffin. I love hanging out with them. They always seem to put a smile on my face and make me feel exhausted by watching their energy bounce off of each other. These two love to climb trees; we ran across a few and they were hanging on them like monkeys.
Mike and Stacy are such a warm and giving couple. Every time I am with them, they make me stop, slow down and appreciate their calmness. I wish I could bottle up their positive attitudes and use it on the days I need an extra boost. How can I thank you for making such a big impression on me and my families life? I hope I am able to repay you in some way.

dodging rain drops
Posted on November 10, 2009
The weather could not have been any better for this session. The day before the rain was coming down in buckets but on Saturday the weather was great. The sun was out, the rain clouds were gone; I could not have asked for a better day. Sandi picked the place out and all I can say is perfection. The buildings were an ideal backdrop for this family of three.
Ethan has got to be one of the most well behaved 3 1/2 year old that I have ever met. I just stared at him thinking “no way this little guy is 3″. He was so mature. Bryan and Sandi are a great couple. They are the type of people that make you feel at ease the moment you say “hi”. I could totally see myself hanging out with them as friends; so genuine and nice. Nothing beats walking away from a session happier than when I came.

a special session with addison
Posted on November 5, 2009
This was a very special session for me. I know Addison’s aunt; she in not only a very dear friend of mine but she is also Griffin’s teacher. Addison is about to turn one and her mom and dad wanted to get some pictures of her and them together. She was also going to have major surgery performed about a week later. One of Addison’s legs was not fully developed when she was born. Her doctors recommended that she have that leg amputated around her first birthday.
Since the surgery date was approaching, her parents wanted me to document what she looked like before her leg was removed. I was deeply touched that they asked me to do this for them. Addison was a bright light. Her smile was contagious and her energy was inspiring. The session was at her home. I love to photograph people in their own elements. I think it makes them more relaxed and you get a better sense for who they are.
I want to thank you, Ryan and Shannon, for asking me to do this for you. Thanks for letting me into your home and letting me do whatever I needed to get the shots I had wanted to try. You have one very special little girl there; but I know you already knew that.

ms. brandi . high school senior
Posted on November 5, 2009
When I met Brandi for our session it was very early in the morning and very cold. She was quite the trooper. I never heard her complain that she was cold the whole 2 hours we were out walking around. She had to be freezing; I was in 4 layers and still felt the cold.
Brandi reminds me a lot of myself when I was her age. I see so much in her eyes, her zest for life that is going to come out. I have a feeling this girl is going to do some amazing things. She has a fun side that she isn’t afraid to show. You will notice that in some of these shots her hair is long and red. She wears a wig from time to time ~ how cool is that? I would LOVE to wear a wig on the days that I want long sexy hair. Kudos to Brandi for following her heart and doing what makes her happy! Make sure you keep this attitude, sometimes as adults we tend to forget life it worth living, not worrying what others will think of us.
Best of luck to you Brandi; keep in touch.

a place with a bit of everything
Posted on November 2, 2009
Sydney’s 9 months pictures were done at a family friends home. This place was amazing and it had a little bit of everything. A pound full of very friendly fish, a great flower garden, some dogs (one who is a Hurricane Katrina survivor), chickens that hang out on the front porch, a pumpkin patch; I could go on and on. It was the perfect setting.
Joe and Karen are such warm people. I feel like part of the family when I am with them. They are so easy to talk to and I loved listening to the story of how they met and fell in love. The story behind the pictures are things that make me smile. By the way Karen, we still have the huge pumpkin on our front porch, we did not want to cut that baby open. Love looking at it everyday ~ thanks!
